Is education and training sufficient for the economic security of women? eS4W forum June 12 2013

 Forum 9.30 am for 10am start

This action focused forum will consider how women and girls are doing in education today and identify the important issues we need to raise with the Australian Government and the wider community.

Opening remarks by Senator Clare Moore; Forum led by The Hon Mary Crawford;

Confirmed speakers include Ms Kira Clarke and Ms Kaye Broadbent who will trigger discussions and involve the audience in identifying solutions and advocacy measures to a range of topical questions, including.

How are highly qualified and skilled women faring in the higher education sector?

 What is happening for young women in high schools and what is needed?

 What is the gender impact of VET in Schools?

 How can partnerships with Trade Training Centres be improved for young women?

 What post school options are there for young women with disabilities

Advocacy workshop 1.00pm-3.30pm

This workshop is primarily for members of eS4W to consider how to take messages from the forum to Canberra. Non-members are welcome to attend.

Twilight 4.30pm-6.30pm

For those who have been teaching, this session will provide a recap on the day and an opportunity add their concerns and ideas. Canapés and cash bar.
